Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines important terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your responsibilities for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To hire a vehicle with Car Hire in Warwick, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. You must also present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with valid payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be specified in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Warwick office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking, with the remaining balance and security deposit usually payable upon vehicle pickup. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. Ensure the vehicle is returned in the same state as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. The vehicle must be returned with the same level of fuel as at pick-up; failure to do so will incur refueling costs. If you anticipate returning the vehicle late, please notify us as soon as possible to avoid extra fees. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial liability. It is beneficial to review these options closely. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar risky behaviors is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to unauthorized individuals is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, or operating the vehicle outside designated areas without prior approval is also unacceptable.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Warwick is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for your rental within the last 12 months. This does not affect our liability for any death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraudulent actions.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the new Terms.
